Casting Call: Big Brother’s Handsome Dilemma

The Eye Candy Conundrum When I tune into Big Brother, I’m not just clocking game strategy—I’m clocking jawlines, abs, and the kind of confident swagger that turns the diary room into a thirst trap. Think BB20’s Fessy and Brett, BB18’s Victor, or Cody, the reigning king of BB eye candy from BB16 and BB22. So imagine my surprise when Season 27 hit... and I was left asking, “Where did all the handsome men go?”

Besides Zach and Zae, I’m struggling to find anyone bringing the heat this season. And as someone who’s watched BB religiously for years, part of the thrill was always seeing who’d make my living room feel like a Calvin Klein commercial. Hot or Not: A 10-Season Breakdown Curious if it was just this season or part of a bigger trend, I dove into the last ten seasons—BB17 through BB26—and reviewed every male houseguest. That’s 81 men, sorted on a simple scale: Hot or Not. For extra spice, I rated each on a 1-to-10 "Hotness Index" (with 10 being full-blown fantasy fuel). The goal? Determine which seasons brought the heat—and which barely cracked room temperature. Percent of "Hot" guys per season.

Each season has 8 men, with the exception of BB19, where there were 9.

Solid 10's - Christian Birkenberger, Cody Calafiore, Faysal "Fessy" Shafaat, Victor Arroyo 9's - Zach Cornell, Isaiah "Zae" Frederich, Tucker Des Lauriers, Matt Hardeman, Xavier Prather, Jack Matthews, Cody Nickson, Clay Honeycutt 8's - Keanu Soto, Cedric Hodges, Matt Klotz, Hisam Goueli, Luke Valentine, Monte Taylor, Joseph Abdin, Kyland Young, Travis Long, Tyler Crispen, Kaysar Ridha, Jackson Michie, Brett Robinson, Winston Hines, Josh Martinez, Matthew "Matt" Clines, Mark Jansen, Paulie Calafiore, Austin Matelson, Jason "Jace" Agolli So no, the eye candy crisis isn’t real—it’s just a mirage formed by the overwhelming wave of mid-tier hotties. While some seasons feel lukewarm at first glance, the truth is that each installment still manages to deliver a solid crop of 3–4 standout stunners. It's not a drought—it’s dilution. With more guys fitting the “cute-but-not-Cody” mold, the true tens get buried in the noise. The handsome dilemma isn’t about fewer hot men—it’s about redefining how we spot them in a sea of almosts.
